ABSTRACT

The significant threat posed by the rise in cyber-attacks to national security necessitates a comprehensive study of their techniques, objectives, and consequences. This study should be a key consideration when formulating a country's security strategy in the modern world. This is because cyber capabilities have the potential to shape the balance of power among states in the contemporary world.

This paper aims to conduct an empirical analysis at the state level and determine the impact of the high market share of Chinese smartphones on India's ability to manage cyber threats from China. The focus will be on analyzing the effect of supply chain software compromises on cyber-attacks.

The paper presents a descriptive assessment of the cyberwar capabilities of India and China while also conducting an analytical study of the security implications of software supply chain compromise. The research findings demonstrate that software supply chain compromise substantially impacts cyberwarfare and modern hybrid warfare.
