C3S launches its Issue Brief initiative. An issue briefs is a summary of the knowledge surrounding an issue or a problem. It summarises the issue giving clear, concise and complete information describing all facets of a particular issue including a detailed illustration in the form of images, data, and facts. It also includes recommendations for action and predictions on the future course of an issue.

The objective of this Issue Brief is to examine China’s strategy towards technology & innovation.  World’s prominent technological breakthroughs have originated from Silicon Valley. In recent decade China is pouring its resources to build its own hub for innovation and rival the US technological capability. Although spelt out to be impressive, questions remain lingering among geopolitical observers. 1. Can China replicate the US experience and success? 2. Can China create its own Silicon Valley?
