Dear Readers,
Greetings and good wishes from Chennai Centre for China Studies ! (C3S) (www.c3sindia.org)
We take great pleasure in wishing you a very Happy Chinese New Year- Year of the Rooster! We wish you peace, prosperity and success in the coming year.
C3S is kicking off it’s activities in the Chinese New Year by holding an academic interaction with a South Korean professor and his students on India-China and S.Korea-China Relations. This event follows the International Conference held on January 24-25 on ‘China: Cultural & Historical Perspective: Lessons for the Future’. The two day event was a success, in terms of engaging with Chinese and other foreign diplomats serving in India and resource persons from across the country and Chennai who delivered out-of-the-box analyses on cultural and historical fronts. The previous International Conference jointly organized with University of Madras on ‘Current Developments in China: Regional Implications on Security and Stability’ also achieved its objectives by engaging with the strategic community. We are now tuning into the upcoming event to be held in March in association with Loyola Institute of Business Administration (LIBA), on the theme ‘Chinese Economy: Trends & Prospects’. The Rooster Year will also witness the beginning of a Chinese language course at C3S. Dr. Alagu Perumal has kindly agreed to guide C3S in the process of imparting language skills to the aspiring Chinese researchers.
On the whole it has been a good beginning. We look forward to continued interaction with the academic and strategic community, both in India and abroad.
We thank all our readers for their constant whole-hearted support and encouragement which motivates us to strive for greater excellence.
Warm Regards,
Cmde. R. S. Vasan- Director, C3S, The C3S Team, Young Minds of C3S.
