We are saddened to inform you of the demise of Dr. James G McGann, Director of the Think Tank and Civil Societies Programme on November 29, 2021.
He was a friend and well-wisher for the Chennai Center for China Studies. We take this moment to remember his contribution to the global think tank community. He was instrumental in creating a network of think tanks across the globe which numbers more than 14,000+ as of 2020.
Thanks to his meticulous efforts today we have informed decision making through think tanks that act as a harbinger for policy advice.
Through his understanding of the global think tank landscape, he wished to make think tanks as enabling institutions impacting public policy thereby serving the people.
His contributions are deeply valued and his legacy will continue to live. We at the Chennai Centre for China Studies will always value his contribution and make all endeavors to carry forward his legacy left behind.
May his soul rest in peace and we pray for strength to his near and dear ones.
