I have great pleasure in announcing that Commodore Vijesh Kumar Garg, VSM has been appointed as Joint Director, C3S with immediate effect. On all our behalf I would like to congratulate Commodore Garg who has been actively involved in all our activities from the time he joined as a distinguished member of C3S. He has effectively contributed to the functioning of the organisation and has been an excellent value addition to C3S. I would like to extend my warm greetings on all our behalf and wish him great success in leading the think tank along with me.

Bio of Commodore Vijesh Kumar Garg, VSM
Commodore Vijesh Kumar Garg, VSM, was commissioned in the Indian Navy in 1984. He is a Naval Aviator and an Anti-Submarine Warfare specialist with very rich experience of flying from aircraft carriers & ships. He was trained in United Kingdom & France in advanced flying for Seaking 42B aircraft.
He is an alumnus of IIT Roorkee, Indian Naval Academy, DSSC, Wellington and CDM, Secunderabad. He holds a PG degree in Defence & Strategic Studies and another PG degree in Management. He has also served on the faculty of the College of Defence Management and the visiting faculty for the College of Air Warfare.
In his long career over 35 years in the Indian Navy, he has held numerous staff, training and command appointments. He has commanded three naval warships, one naval air squadron, two naval air stations & Delhi Naval Area. His last assignment was as Deputy Director-General of NCC directorate (Tamilnadu, Pondicherry, Andaman& Nicobar Islands).
He was the recipient of the Vishist Seva Medal by the President of India in 2013. He was also awarded a “Silver Baton” by the Governor of Tamilnadu in 2018 for his dedicated initiatives towards girl empowerment in the state.
Currently, he is visiting faculty at IIT, LIBA, NIFT & AMET Chennai.
